Miss Babs Golden Anniversary Shawl

July 15, 2023

This shawl is mostly based off of a pattern from Petra Skorjank on Ravelry. I was working on this during a couple of shows so I went off the beat and path, but then used the pattern for the trim when I got to the end. I think it came out really beautiful. This was a collorway by Miss Babs for the 50th Anniversary of the Maryland Sheep and Wool. This is their Yearning yarn, but this particular colorway is no longer available. I used all 1200 yards. Sheep!

July 13, 2023

I had the idea to make sheep when I was at Michael Harbridge's workshop and we made planters. While we were at the cabin I took clay with me like I always do, but also took 2 of the puzzling forms. I decided to make some sheep. These came out so adorable. I can't wait to fire them. Sheep!

Kiln Results 7/10

July 11, 2023

This ended up being more of a hodge podge than I would have expected. I had a few things leftover from the last time I glazed and I have almost a second kiln load from what I finished glazing. When I loaded the kiln I ended up with a mixture of things.

Lots of jewelry pieces in here. I actually just had to buy more of everything for jewelry so as soon as that stuff comes from Amazon I can make more.

I have another plate in this load that has some specks in it. I think one of my shelves must be shedding and I'm going to have to investigate. In the last load it actually sanded off the spoon holder easily, this one since its a solid color that won't work so it will have to be refired.

Kiln Sneak Peek 7/10

July 10, 2023

The top is almost entirely jewelry. A little disappointed that I didn't fix the issue with the band in the middle of this tray, it is better than the last one but its still the only thing I see. This kiln has some crabs, but most will be in the next one. Kiln Sneak Peek 7/10

July Shows and Square Bowls

July 06, 2023

Schedule for July - I will be at the Belle Aire Market this Sunday July 9th, on July 22nd I'll be at the Taneytown Art in the Park and July 29th at the Craft Fair in Chaumont, NY. I got the new square cutters from De La Designs and immediately put them to use. The clay was a little too wet when I did it which is a learning for next time, but I still think they look great.

This one is using the biggest cutter. Square Bowls

This one is using the smallest cutter. I haven't used the middle cutter yet, but will soon.
